A Brief History Of Palisades Amusement Park
In 1910 the Park was purchased by brothers Nicholas and Joseph Schenck. Having an eye for the newly formed motion picture industry the Schenck's contributed largely to its success by filming major motion pictures within the park. In 1913 the world's largest saltwater pool was built on top of the Palisades overlooking the NY skyline and enjoyed by millions over the years.
Over the years, Palisades Amusement Park had two major fires. Attendance was on the decline and the park and the park forever closed its gates in 1971.
